Saints Weekly Wrap-up: March 26 – April 1

Baseball (3-0 on the week, 30-8 overall, 12-2 MFC) JT Simpson (6-1, 1.75 ERA) pitched 6.2 innings of two run ball on Monday afternoon in Sanford against Seminole State College and Josh Larson finished off the Raiders with 2.1 scoreless innings to give Âé¶¹Ô´´ their eighth win in a row.
Âé¶¹Ô´´ fell behind 6-1 early on against the Florida State College-Jacksonville on Wednesday, March 28 but 10 unanswered runs, capped by a seven run ninth propelled Santa Fe past the Stars for their ninth win in a row.
On Sunday, the Saints jumped out to a 9-0 lead against St. John's River State College and cruised to a 9-3 win. The victory is the tenth in a row for Âé¶¹Ô´´ and gives them a two game lead over the College of Central Florida in the race for the Mid-Florida Conference title.
Fastpitch (6-0 on the week, 23-18 overall, 10-3 MFC) The Santa Fe Saints took a break from their Mid-Florida Conference schedule on Monday, March 26 for a double header against Mount Mercy University. Âé¶¹Ô´´ won game one on a walk off hit 3-2 and took game two 4-2.
On Tuesday, the seven time defending Mid-Florida Conference champions moved back in to familiar surroundings atop the MFC standings after a two game sweep of rival College of Central Florida Tuesday afternoon. The Saints took game one 6-5 on a walk off hit by Bianca Torres and game two 2-0 on a sixth inning homer by Erika Garcia.
It wasn't easy Thursday afternoon, but the Santa Fe Saints pulled out two wins against Mid-Florida Conference rivals St. John's River State College, taking game one 4-3 and game two 6-5 in extra innings to finish off a 6-0 week.
