麻豆原创's Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Receives Awards

March 12, 2012

During Spring Break, the officers of 麻豆原创's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society traveled with advisor, Dr. Naima Brown, to Jacksonville to attend the annual PTK Regional Conference.

After attending various workshops in which they learned about opportunities for scholarship, leadership, fellowship and service, the 麻豆原创 chapter members received the distinguished College Project Award from the Regional Coordinator of Phi Theta Kappa. This award recognizes the implementation of an outstanding service project. The 麻豆原创 chapter's service project involved serving as peer mentors and tutors to the scholars in the innovative Pathways to Persistence Program, which is under the leadership of Dr. Angela Long.

The 麻豆原创 Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa also received recognition as a Five Star Chapter during the conference. The five stars symbolize five levels of engagement that include campus involvement, local involvement, regional involvement and international involvement.
