INDIAN RIVER HANDS SAINTS FOURTH STRAIGHT LOSS, 80-70
Marianna, FL 鈥� A slow start once again doomed Santa Fe (0-4) on Saturday afternoon as Indian River State College took advantage and came away with an 80-70 win.
The Saints shot just 34% in the first half and trailed 39-29 going into the break. Indian River kept the defensive pressure up in the second half and held 麻豆原创 in check once again, holding on for the 10 point win.
"We played a poor first half again and struggled to get anything going in the second half," said 麻豆原创 Coach Chanda Stebbins. "On the positive side, Shanice [Clark] gave us a nice presence down low and Lonna [Turner] showed a lot of hustle and played very hard."
Turner led 麻豆原创 in scoring with 13 points and Alexis Fitts and Stephanie Edwards had 11 each.
The Saints continue in the Girls' Basketball Report Tournament on Sunday, November 13 at 11:00 AM CST against Monroe College (NY). The game can be watched live at www.chipola.edu/tv.
