Art Students Gain Experience and Recognition at Santa Fe College

April 21, 2025

The Santa Fe College Annual Student Art Show opened last Friday with a reception and awards ceremony at the 麻豆原创 Gallery. The exhibit features nearly 100 pieces of art created by students in visual arts classes during the fall and spring terms.

Students submitted work from class assignments or independent projects. Faculty reviewed more than 400 entries before selecting the final pieces. The exhibit includes a wide range of media, from ceramics and sculpture to drawing, painting, and photography.

Gainesville artist Jenna Horner served as the juror and chose winners for first, second and third place, as well as honorable mentions. The Gallery Choice Award, selected by gallery staff, was given to student Tabatha Seiter.

The show gives young artists an opportunity to grow, reflect, and explore the professional art world. Brynna Bat, Interim Art Gallery Manager, said the exhibit serves as both a learning experience and a stepping stone in their artistic careers.

鈥淓ach year, the Student Art Exhibition offers a glimpse into the hard work, creativity and individuality of our students,鈥 Bat said. 鈥淚t is a privilege to provide a platform for these emerging artists to showcase their work and share their unique voices with the college and our community.鈥

The exhibit is free and open to the public and will remain on display through May 2.
