Laptop & Hotspot Loan Program

Fall 2025 Changes

Beginning with fall 2025 semester, to centralize services, coordinate support, and appropriately allocate limited resources, the college is making changes to laptop and hotspot loans. Students enrolled in current term, credit-bearing classes who have laptop and/or hotspot needs MUST:

  1. Complete the .
  2. Wait for Saints Care Center Staff to follow up with an email to determine eligibility.
  3. Once approved, and notified by Saints Care Center staff, students can then go to the Tyree Library on the NW Campus to check out a laptop and/or hotspot.  Students may designate an Âé¶¹Ô­´´ Center, instead of the Tyree Library, as their pickup location during their meeting with SCC staff. 

The library will ONLY check out loaner laptops and/or hotspots to students who have been approved and notified of their approval by the Saints Care Center. 

If you qualify for financial aid, you can purchase your own laptop from the Âé¶¹Ô­´´ Bookstore using your financial aid. 

Laptops and hotspots will be available for check out to students who have received approval from the Saints Care Center starting on the first day of fall, spring, and summer semesters.

 

Overview

  • Students with approval from the Saints Care Center can borrow a laptop and or hotspot from the Tyree library during open business hours.
  • Some number of laptops and hotspots will be available on the first day of each semester.
  • Students must show an Âé¶¹Ô­´´ID or government-issued photo ID to borrow a laptop or hotspot.
  • Laptops and hotspots must be returned at the end of the semester in which they were borrowed. Due dates are provided on the agreement form signed at checkout.
  • Failure to return an Âé¶¹Ô­´´ laptop and/or hotspot by the stated deadline will result in a hold on the student account which prevents course enrollment, suspension of laptop/hotspot privileges, and/or payment of replacement costs.

Santa Fe College students enrolled in current-term, credit-bearing courses who 1) have completed the , 2) met with a Saints Care Center staff member, and 3) received approval for laptop-hotspot loan, are eligible to borrow a Âé¶¹Ô­´´ Loaner Laptop and/or hotspot.

Laptops and hotspots will be available for check out to Students who have received approval from the Saints Care Center starting on the first day of fall, spring, and summer semesters. Check Library Hours for opening times.  

No, Âé¶¹Ô­´´ Loaner Laptops & Hotspots are borrowed one semester at a time and must be returned at the end of each semester.  Library staff must make updates to the equipment each semester to ensure functionality. Laptops cannot be renewed. 

Yes! During your meeting with the Saints Care Center staff, request device pickup at a center. Library staff will send the device to the Center through college courier. Expect 3-5 days for processing and delivery.  

For technical assistance with Âé¶¹Ô­´´ Loaner Laptops, please visit the Information Technology Services (ITS) Service Desk during college business hours on the Northwest Campus in K-036.   College business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. If unable to visit the Northwest Campus, please call the library to facilitate assistance. 

Students using Âé¶¹Ô­´´ Loaner Laptops must abide by the college Student Computer Use and Appropriate Use Policies which prohibit downloading and installing programs on any Âé¶¹Ô­´´-owned equipment. See Student Use Policy
